Let’s imagine that to make money from music, you need to stand in an imaginary long line. The first in line get the biggest paycheck. The last – get nothing.
If you have just become interested and started learning, then you are at the very end of this queue.
But don’t worry, because some people don’t even take up space and therefore they are not even in line.
Well, to each his own – whichever queue suits his taste. Someone might take a place in painting or architecture.
But the essence remains the same. We’re all “standing in lines.”
No one understands why there are so many people or what they’ll be handing out at the end of that line.
But, it’s simple: if you improve your level – do what others can’t do – then you gradually move up in this queue.
Let’s say you’ve learned not only vocals but also keyboards.
Whether your colleagues want it or not, they’ll still give you their place in front.
Then, you go to play in a band. — “Aha, so, move over, I’ve acquired another skill.”
Then you created your own band and retired from business, only organizing performances and concerts for them.
— “Come on, buddy, move over, I have my own band, make way.”
And so on…
And the more skills you’ve developed (books unread, audios unlistened to, stories unheard), the faster you move up the queue, the more and more often you’ll get paid.
Now, answer these questions:
HOW MUCH ARE YOU WORTH?
WHAT BENEFIT, AND THEREFORE, HOW MUCH MONEY CAN YOU EARN FOR YOUR EMPLOYER (director, organizer)?
WHERE ARE YOU IN THE “QUEUE”?!
ARE YOU SATISFIED WITH THIS PLACE OR DO YOU THINK YOU CAN DO MORE?!
TELL ME, HOW MUCH MONEY CAN YOU EARN WITH YOUR EXISTING SKILLS?!
AND IF YOU HAD LEARNED SOMETHING ADDITIONALLY, WOULD YOUR WORK BE WORTH HIGHER?! HOW MUCH?!
By answering these questions, you will be able to understand your value and, accordingly, the compensation for your skills!
Do you get paid for your work? Are you satisfied with the quality of your work?
