How small actions can lead to big creative achievements?

The information below can be useful for any creative person, be it a musician, an artist, a singer, or even a craftsperson.

The point is that when you need to do something, try to take small first steps. They will help you decide on your future direction.

So, if your system for achieving results isn’t producing the results you’re looking for, you can try small steps. I’d even call them microsteps.

Take writing a book, for example.

Using this example, you can build an algorithm for achieving your other goals.

If you’ve never written a book before, you first need to instill this habit in yourself through small steps. Take small steps every day. Let’s say you’d like to write your own book! Then…

Big Goal: I want to write a book

  • Questions for a concrete understanding of the outcome (What should the end result be?)
  • What length should the book be, how many pages? (Are you imagining a larger work or is a thin booklet sufficient for you?)
  • What is the topic of the book, and who will it be written for? (Will it be
broad and superficial or narrow but profound?)
  • Why does society need it? (Problem solving, entertainment, educational)
  • Why do you need it? (What will writing your book give you?)
  • How much time are you willing to spend writing the book? (Hours per day)
  • How long do you plan to complete it? (A week, 15 days, a month, six months, a year)
  • What will be the structure of your book? (How many volumes, parts, chapters, paragraphs, sections, subsections)
  • How will you implement it? (Will you take it to a publisher, make it electronic, print it yourself, then distribute it to friends, or keep it for yourself)
  • What will the cover be? (Will you make it yourself, hire designers, what will be on it?)
  • What will the finished book mean?

After answering these questions in detail in writing, you can move on to actions (mini-actions).

Don’t take these steps just for writing a book, read between the lines, apply them to any endeavor.

Here are the small steps you need to take for the given option:

  1. Turn on your computer, tablet, or netbook, and prepare a notebook and some papers.
  2. Launch Word, Notepad, or another program.
  3. Gather the sources of your information: books, websites, audio, video, your own work, journals, etc.
  4. Similar to preparing and writing term papers and theses, process and interpret the information, highlight the main points, and write them down in bullet points.
  5. Write down all the theses on pieces of paper and print them in the program.
  6. Divide them into categories and assign a topic to each thesis.
  7. Reveal the thesis and topic in the volume of a chapter.
  8. Write only your thoughts, in simple, understandable language.
  9. Writing, editing, proofreading, formatting.

I hope this simple system helps some aspiring writers! Good luck!
