If your income comes from only one source (let’s say you’re a musician and earn only through performances and concerts), then there are several interesting solutions for you.
Strategy – Training.
Tactics 1. Home Teaching.
Firstly, if you play, you at least know what you’re doing and can teach others. Considering that many of your potential students are currently stuck at home, you can take advantage of this. Your task will be to visit your students’ homes and conduct lessons.
What to do:
1 – Advertise your services (playing a musical instrument, music theory,
arranging, vocals, etc.)
2 – Send a mailing list to email addresses in your area and neighboring buildings
3 – Find nearby educational institutions and arrange a lesson there
4 – Take calls and reply to text messages
5 – Schedule a lesson
6 – Give a few free lessons
7 – Give only what they want (don’t torment people with your spontaneous improvisation or high-speed solo playing; people want to play simple songs and sing)
7 – If you charge for lessons, keep it to a minimum
8 – Provide benefits and results
Tactic 2. Online training.
There is enormous potential here for any musician, whether a theorist or a practitioner, a seasoned musician or a session musician. You can share your experience and knowledge with those eager to learn through webinars, virtual consultations, and discussions. Even if only 10-15 people attend the webinar, your goal isn’t to attract a large audience, but to create a first impression.
What to do:
1 – Announce the upcoming webinar on social media (you can use a live stream on social media)
2 – Prepare a presentation and frequently asked questions
3 – Find out about the audience’s wants and needs during the event
4 – Provide immediate recommendations and advice on the problem raised
5 – Tell a story about yourself (only at the end, because no one is interested in hearing about you; everyone wants to learn about themselves and solve their problem)
6 – Conclude with an announcement of the next event and answer questions
7 – Provide benefits and results
And this is only the training strategy, and even then, it’s far from exhaustive (I don’t like writing long posts and articles).
The rest, a little later…
