Here I will provide excerpts from texts from various years to help you understand my firmly established position and approach to teaching.
The year is 2026.
Since 2010, I’ve taught many private lessons, hundreds of classes, dozens of live meetings with students, and online consultations. And all this time, I’ve never doubted that one-on-one instruction is the most powerful, the most effective.
Sometimes I was asked to teach musical instruments, but most often I taught people how to understand music, edit other people’s music, and create their own music. People came to my online lessons and webinars, and I freely shared all the information I’d acquired and processed, all the experience I’d gained.
I’ve helped bands hold their first concert. I’ve helped a promising young woman master classical guitar. I’ve helped musicians earn money. And I will continue to do so. Completely free of charge.
I want everyone who can afford internet access to learn from people of all races, skin colors, religions, and languages. I want musicians and other creative people to share their talents freely, without asking for anything in return. I really want the initial study of music or anything else to happen in a one-on-one format. After all, that’s how music can be learned. And then the Student will be able to understand for himself whether he needs a group, or whether he can sing and play on his own. They can decide for themselves which genre to perform in, or explore different genres. He can build a system for making money from music, or he can simply give pleasure to himself and others and do it for free. Let everyone decide!
Individual instruction isn’t just working with specific programs designed for one person. It’s something more. It’s a complete absorption of knowledge, exploring the different philosophies of different teachers. Even if you’re over 80, oddly enough, an 18-year-old student can be a teacher for you. And if you’re young, learn from all your peers, older friends, and very experienced and great musicians. It’s simple: learn through books, videos, and audio. Many are no longer on this planet, but their work is still accessible and valuable as ever.
