How can a music band find its audience?

I encounter rejection, sometimes even aggression, when I ask people why and for whom you play.

Almost everyone claims it doesn’t matter to them; whoever listens will listen.

This strange attitude toward your audience makes you think. It might be that you, so talented, throw scraps under the table for your dog, but for some reason, it doesn’t eat them.

“If it’s hungry, it will eat. If it doesn’t eat, it’s full.”

Don’t you ever wonder if this dog might go to another owner or stop serving you faithfully? No? But you should.

It’s better to find out, through testing and trial and error, what your faithful dog prefers, and then give it to him.

It’s the same with your audience.

So, you’ll play songs that only you or a few of your colleagues like. So what? Only one and a half people will come to see you, and even then, the main and decisive factor will be the venue you’re performing at.

Imagine you’re throwing a house concert, and this house concert must have at least 100 people (yes, that’s a big apartment ). There are no other options, just you or your band. No drinks, no background music, no venue status. Just you.

Who will come to you?

Who would you like to see at your event?

Who are these people, what is their status, age, gender?

What do they like and dislike?

How can you attract such an audience?

What can you create that’s so great that it’s simply impossible not to come and listen?

Have you ever asked yourself and/or your band members these questions?!

Well, please ask them before it’s too late, otherwise you will continue to play for no apparent reason, no apparent purpose, and no apparent meaning.

I wish you the right decisions and speedy musical growth in your city!

I might be wrong. Let me know in the comments.

To understand your audience, you need to subscribe. I’ll teach you how.
