Simple but important goals of a musician.

Musicians‘ problems lie in their vague goals:

I want to learn to play the guitar
I want to learn to mix music
I want to learn to sing
I want to learn to write lyrics
I want to learn to write music
etc.

These and other desires are often found in people who don’t know what exactly they want.

If you don’t know what you want, you won’t achieve it.

The biggest mistake is when we want something without knowing what. We don’t know how, when, WHY, why we need it, or what for.

Often, when you ask yourself these questions, the desire becomes less powerful, and dreams are replaced by needs. Instead of understanding our desire more specifically, we begin to magnify it so much that it becomes increasingly difficult to begin to realize it.

Let’s learn from children. After all, we were once children ourselves. A child asks for a toy, points to a specific toy, names its color, describes how they’ll play with it, and says what they’ll call it.
So, think about it: a child knows what they want better than an adult.

We’ve all had THIS, but it disappeared with age. With age, fears, self-doubt, and limited abilities set in, and many have completely stopped dreaming.

Try to return to that state you were when you were a child, and then your current desires will be incomprehensible to you.

Examples of specific goals:

I want to learn my favorite guitar song, played with a pick, in a week, on my own.
I want to learn how to process the low frequencies of an instrument (equalizer) in one instrumental part (bass guitar) in a month from an experienced instructor.
I want to learn to sing a song by my favorite artist in 3 days with the help of a vocal coach.
I want to write the lyrics to a fantasy-themed song, consisting of two verses and an intro (recitation), myself, in a week.
I want to find the piano chords for a popular song in two days with the help of a musician friend of mine.

Set simple, very small, but important goals that can later grow into huge achievements.
