How to help yourself start learning what you love?

For some, working all day (from morning until night) on a project may seem like a waste of time or simply impossible. Some people find it very difficult to take the first step.

It’s hard to learn the same thing every day while maintaining enthusiasm, even if you’ve clearly written down a plan and follow it day after day. Distractions appear that are just waiting to throw you off track.

There’s a simple way out of this situation.

Do so much that you don’t even notice.
Make sure the activity is directed toward your desires, but doesn’t force you to do it, especially not through force or willpower.

Example:

You want to learn to play the drums.

Playing music is the most energy-consuming hobby. It involves all your arms and legs. You only need to watch drummers at concerts or watch the 2014 film Whiplash (though it’s about jazz, where the tempo reaches 300 or more beats per minute).
You understand that you need to sit with it every day and study it. You realize that you need to practice every day.

But you don’t do it. You don’t even go near the drum kit (if you even have one).

Tell me, you don’t want it then?! No, you do, it’s just that this is new to you and your body is afraid to start.

Getting started requires small steps, a kind of habituation.

If you can’t start playing a part or an exercise, play just one note.
If you can’t play one note, just sit on a chair with your drumsticks and sit there.
If you can’t sit down at the installation, take the sticks in your hands and, lying on the sofa, twirl them, feel them.
If you can’t pick up your drumsticks, watch videos of great drummers. Start zombifying yourself with videos (not just one video, but watch 100 different artists, different genres).

After this, you will either grab the sticks yourself and start hitting the drums in any style, or you will finally understand that this is really not the thing you like.

The point is that you move from simple, inexpensive actions to serious play, without forcing yourself or resisting yourself.

The system works perfectly. Tested for myself.
