4 Key Components of Music Promotion. Part 3-2.

Let’s continue…

Let me remind you

We settled on the first promotion strategy in the “Advertising/PR” component.

3.2 The second strategy is “prototypical.”

It’s based on “borrowing” a portion of an established band’s audience by entering the market as a cover band.

“We’ll play FAMOUS songs by FAMOUS bands.”
“We can’t MAKE MONEY on our songs; no one knows them, no one needs them.”
“We OURSELVES enjoy playing covers, and this will affect our LEVEL.”

Do you recognize this?

Well, of course, you or your project are based on the second strategy, and it would seem like a golden path, but…

About 35% of bands choose this direction, and I’ve noticed that their number is growing every year.

The fame factor is higher, but a small amount of personality still plays a role.

Depending on the target audience, you can expect a 5-8 year horizon.

A chain of consequences.

What if it only gets worse?

A significant number of people love what you play.
Popular hits force fans to compare your performance to their idols. As soon as they decide you don’t meet their expectations, you can be forgotten.
Hence the sharp decline in pay; there’s no longer any desire to continue creating in this field.

A chain of opportunities.

What if it gets even better?

A significant number of people love what you play.
Because of your popular hits, people listen to you and eagerly come to your concerts.
A very good income.
There’s a desire to improve yourself and the project—to raise your level.

to be continued…
